April 24-25, 2010 (Sat & Sun) EVENTING 101 = THE BASICS
- Designed for those new to eventing or folks who want a refresher course on competing, this clinic will provide basic information on how to prepare for and compete in an Event.
- Saturday at Pendragon Farm in Cornville The day will begin with a talk (and coffee & donuts) covering rules and basic information about what you and your horse need to event (equipment, vaccinations, conditioning, etc.), followed by practice dressage rides. After lunch (bring your own), there will be stadium course walks, practice stadium rides. We will end Saturday reviewing the different types of events, 2 phase, ultimate 2 phase and 3 phase and also howto correctly fill out an entry form!
- Sunday at Hyl-Tun Farm in Starks. The day will begin with course walks and discussion, followed by riding the cross country course.
- Instructors: Sandy Porter Bean and Audrey Bean.
- Cost: $85 per participant
- Location: Saturday - Pendragon Farm, Cornville and Sunday - HylTun Farm, Starks
The farms are about 12 miles apart. Overnight stabling is available at either farm for an extra
charge of $15. There are a number of restaurants and lodging establishments nearby, or you
are welcome to camp at Hyl-Tun farm's big barn.

4) A copy of a 2009/10 Rabies vaccine certificate (within a year)

Eventing Clinic Series with Anna Welch
Here is an excellent opportunity for everyone to that perhaps don’t have the luxury of taking weekly lessons! MeCTA is offering 3 Clinics with well known trainer Anna Welch (see bio). The clinics will be held at some of Maine’s Premier Facilities. There will be one clinic per month starting in April with the last one in June. That way you and your horse will get a jump start (!) on the new season by being able to school at great venues with consistent instruction.

- Opening date: May 1 Closing date: June 25
- A 2-day learning opportunity for MeCTA members 21 years and younger who are interested in getting more experience in eventing, Elementary through Training.
- Costs: $110 for the clinic (inlcudes 4 meals). Add $20 for weekend stabling if desired.
- Instructors: Debbie Place, Caitlin Donahue, and Sandy Porter-Bean
July 24&25, 2010 (Sat&Sun) Adult Riders Clinic (A.K.A. Fabulous Fossils Over Fences)
- Opening date: May 1 Closing date: July 1
- Modeled after the very popular Young Riders Clinic, the Adult Riders Clinic is a 2-day offering for riders over 21 who are interested in getting more experience in eventing. The clinic offers mounted lessons each day (Saturday and Sunday) and a lecture on Saturday. Lessons include flat work, stadium and cross-country jumping. Groups limited to 5-6 riders.
- Instructor: Debbie Place & an assistant TBA, if needed.
- Cost: $200 per participant, includes weekend stabling.
(Please come Friday night to get settled in and socialize before the clinic begins Saturday!)
- Location: Hyl-Tun Farm, Starks (just 20 miles west of I-95 Waterville exit)
