MeCTA In Person Meeting!!! Thursday March 23 at 6:30 at Hank's Equipment in Newport, ME. 19 Moosehead Trl, Newport, ME 04953 - right next to Subway. All members welcome! Come hear about the upcoming season for MeCTA. And bring your ideas/questions!

The 2016 Year End awards banquet and organizer's meeting will be held January 28. The dinner will be held at the Carmel Snowmobile Club Building (210 Hampden Road, Carmel, ME 04419). The Pizza Party starts at 6 PM and is sponsored by MeCTA. Water will be provided and you can bring your own beverage if you want, however, adult beverages are not allowed in the building. If you want to bring something to share, a dessert would be appreciated. The year end awards will be given after dinner. NOTE: new this year - all competitors will receive a ribbon. The Organizers' Meeting will follow the award ceremony. Any questions? Contact a MeCTA Board Member.

Saturday November 5th
The day will start with coffee and snacks at 9AM, then a lecture about the day from Doug.
Doug will use a variety of horses and riders, from Intro to Training level, to show the skills needed at each level.
Auditors will be able to interact with Doug and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Doug will be wearing a microphone so auditors will be included as he has riders demonstrate exercises and expectations.
There will be a Pot Luck Lunch at 1pm (please contribute a pot!) and the day will conclude at 4pm.
The seminar with demonstrations will be held in the indoor.
At 5 PM we will gather at the Carmel Masonic Hall for a pot luck dinner with Doug. There will be a brief lecture and more opportunity to ask questions. We will be holding a fund raising 50-50 raffle.
Sunday November 6th
Sunday will be a classic clinic. Doug will teach four groups of five riders at various levels starting at 8am. The clinic lessons will be in the indoor.
MeCTA Sponsored Doug Payne Seminar and Clinic - November 5 & 6, 2016
The Doug Payne seminar has been rescheduled!! It will be at Peppergrass Farm on Saturday November 5. Doug will be presenting the fundamentals of eventing through the use of demo riders. The seminar will be free to current MeCTA members. More information about Doug can be found here:
The seminar will run from 9-4 with a pot luck lunch.
We are looking for demo riders from intro to training level. If you are interested in being a demo rider, please complete the demo rider form (click here for form) and send to Debbie Place – email@example.com. Applications will be reviewed and the selected riders will be notified individually by phone or email.
There will be a charge of $15 for non-MeCTA members but anyone can become a member on the day of the seminar and attend for free. If you join or renew at the seminar – that membership will be good through 2017.
There will also be an informal dinner with Doug after the seminar – starting around 5. Location at the Carmel Masonic Hall. This will be a pot luck dinner.
And if that is not enough – Doug will be staying through Sunday to teach a clinic. $100/ride for a group lesson with a max of 5 riders. XC will be available, weather permitting. This clinic is open to MeCTA members only and you need to be a member by the time you ride into the ring – so spread the word to your non MeCTA member friends!!
